Schedules and Run now

A coworker can start work without a Slack message: on a schedule, or when someone gives it a task in the console.

A schedule runs the coworker at a set time with a set task. On the Schedules tab, click Add schedule and fill in:

  • Name, for example Weekly marketing report.
  • When: how often (every day, weekdays, every week on a day of the week, or every month on a day of the month) and a time of day. Times are in your browser’s time zone. A schedule runs at most once an hour.
  • What to do: the task, as you would write it in Slack.
  • Post the result in: a channel, or Don’t post. Results are always on the Runs tab.
  • Post only when there’s something new: it skips the post when there is nothing new to report since the last run.

Each scheduled run starts fresh, reads its progress notes first, and picks up where the last run left off. A coworker can have up to 20 schedules. Use Pause to stop one for a while.

On the Overview tab, type a task under Run now and click Run. The console opens the run’s page, where you can watch its steps live. To share the answer, check Post the answer in and pick a channel.
