Limits

Your organization’s plan sets how many sandboxes you can run and for how long. This page lists those limits, the messages you see when you reach one, and the per-sandbox time limits. The console’s Limits page shows your plan’s numbers and, where available, your current usage. Open it from the left sidebar under Manage at droneship.run/console.

Limit Free Trial Pro Enterprise Status
Concurrent sandboxes 5 5 Unlimited Unlimited Enforced at launch
Sandbox hours per month 30 30 Unlimited Unlimited Enforced at launch
Projects per organization 1 2 Unlimited Unlimited Enforced: creating one more project fails
Users per project 1 15 Unlimited Unlimited Shown in the console; not checked when a member is added

Droneship checks the two sandbox limits when you launch a sandbox, which covers droneship run, droneship run -p, droneship resume and restoring a task.

  • Concurrent sandboxes counts your organization’s running sandboxes, your teammates’ included: interactive sessions and running prompt runs. Stopped sandboxes and saved workspaces don’t count.
  • Sandbox hours per month adds up sandbox running time in your project since the first of the month (UTC). On Free that’s your whole organization, because Free has one project. It counts sandboxes that already stopped, plus the time so far of the ones still running. The count starts again on the first.

When you reach a limit, sandboxes that are already running keep running. The next launch is refused.

The launch fails with one of these messages. On Trial, the message says Trial instead of Free.

Free plan limit reached: 5 concurrent sandboxes. Contact sales@highflame.com to switch to Pro.
Free plan limit reached: 30 sandbox hours this month. Contact sales@highflame.com to switch to Pro.

To launch now, stop a sandbox you no longer need (droneship list, then droneship kill <id>), or wait for the hours to reset on the first of the month. Troubleshooting has the details.

To switch to Pro, contact sales@highflame.com. Billing isn’t in the console yet.

These come from the flags on droneship run, not from your plan.

Limit Default Range
Idle stop (--idle), with nobody connected 30m Up to 24h; 0 turns it off
Hard cap (--timeout) 8h Up to 24h
Prompt run kept after it stops 7 days Fixed

A saved workspace has no set retention. It lasts until you run droneship workspace delete or launch with --fresh. See Auto-stop and Workspaces.
